Catherine & Matthew, Wedding
The Ashes Country House, Stoke-on-Trent – March 2014
“Cherie and the band were excellent. From the very start they created a great atmosphere and they kept the dance floor crowded throughout their sets, which had a good range of different songs. Their performance was thoroughly professional, bright and slick, and they kept to schedule. The sound balance was good and the volume just right throughout. They arrived on time and set up quickly and quietly. I can’t imagine them not being a success at any wedding.
Stuart Lynas” - Father of the Bride
“Func on the rocks were recommended to us by a friend and they certainly didn’t disappoint. They sounded great, were flexible in terms of our requirements and lots of my guests commented on how good Cherie and the band were at our wedding. Func on the rocks ensured the dance floor was packed and an encore was demanded at the end of their set, which finished the night off perfectly!
Thanks guys :) Catherine” - Bride
Angela & Craig, Wedding
The Hospitium, York – March 2014
“Craig and I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to you and the band. We thought they were absolutely fantastic! Craig doesn’t normally set foot on a dance floor and he ended up dancing all night! All our guests have said they loved the band too. We particularly loved the version of Invincible that the band played for our first dance. It was better than we could have imagined. I’m so glad we had someone filming it so we can watch it again!
Angela and Craig” - Bride & Groom
Laura & Tim, Wedding
Inn on the Lake, Cumbria – February 2014
“Just wanted to say an enormous Thank You to Cherie and the band for playing at our wedding in the Lake District on 17th Feb. We had an amazing day, the band were incredible (as we knew they would be) and very adaptable when we needed to change one or two timings when the wedding over-ran. Many of our guests have told us how good Func On The Rocks were, and I have a feeling your services may be required at a big family party or two in the future!
Thanks also to you for all your help organising and arranging.
We really enjoyed having the band along for the ride on our big day and we hope they enjoyed themselves too!
Laura & Tim” - Bride & Groom

Rebecca & James, Wedding
Rossington Hall, Doncaster – December 2013
“We were absolutely thrilled with the whole experience from FOTR right from seeing Cherie’s smile as I walked down the staircase with my dad (she was ready to sing for the drinks reception) to boogieing the night away! They were everything we had hoped for and more. Really made our day.
Thanks so much again,
Rebecca and James” - Bride & Groom
Carri & Martin, Wedding
Oulton Hall, Leeds – December 2013
“The band were fantastic, they really added to our special day and Martin and I were really pleased.
So many guests commented on the band and how great they were. Even with Cherie poorly you guys were able to still deliver a great service. I am glad to hear Cherie is better now too :).
Melody did such a fab job and having the band do the first dance was awesome. I had read that a few bands chose not to do this as it can be very personal and the band may not get the right version. Not your band, there was no hesitation they just did it and fabulously.
Thanks again and I would highly recommend you and your band, Carri” - Bride
Laura & Brad, Wedding
The Carriage Hall, Nottingham – October 2013
“Thank you so much for playing at our wedding :) You helped to make our day so special.
We were initially worried that people wouldn’t dance but you guys got everyone up dancing all night until they kicked us out! Everyone said how good the live sets were and also the choice of dj music too.
Thank you so much for learning our first dance song even though it involved blending two versions of the song together, it was so perfect and we loved it :)
Special thanks to Steve for managing the task of being a guest and performing at our wedding.
The venue and many of our guests were so impressed they have requested your details for future weddings!
Lots of love Brad and Laura Thompson-Stevens” - Bride & Groom
Katie & Chris, Wedding
Close House Hotel, Newcastle – September 2013
“I can’t believe how long it has taken me to get round to doing this but myself and Chris want to say a huge huge thank you to you and the band for their part in our wedding day back in September at Close House up in Newcastle.
They were truly amazing and we have never ever been to a wedding with such a packed dance floor all night! They were absolutely brilliant, played all of our requests, and dealt with our guests asking them for things on the night too! We couldn’t have asked for anything more, especially for our first dance (Temper Trap, Sweet Disposition) which was just beautifully done. All of our guests keep talking about how good a time they had on the dancefloor and how amazing the music was :)

Duncan & Claire, Joint 50th Birthday Party
Durham School – August 2013
“Can you thank all the band from me & Claire for their contribution to the fantastic night we had last Saturday, I hope they all enjoyed it as much as we did. We both had a cracking night, & had lots of our friends saying what a great band they were. I really enjoyed the jazz set in the conservatory – what a great blues voice Cherie has. Then the mix of music & the sound they produced with the horn section were superb & had everyone up & dancing to the end. They even plugged themselves back in & played me an encore when I didn’t want the night to end & I think they were all just ready to head home!
Thanks also to you for sorting things out & responding to last-minute emails. All the best to you all for the future & I hope to see them again sometime.” - Duncan Bates

Charity Event – July 2013
“We booked Func on the Rocks for Bramham Ball this July, raising funds for local charities. They surpassed all expectations and were one of the major reasons why the Ball was so successful. Their unbounded energy and enthusiasm and their ability to keep the dance floor full and buzzing all night meant we had no hesitation in booking them immediately for next year’s Ball. One of our guests booked them soon afterwards for a Birthday party and we can’t wait to hear them again. Great guys, great musicians, great choice of songs = a great night enjoyed by all!” - Nick Hall, Bramham Ball 2013

Louise & Lee, Wedding
East Riddlesden Hall, Keighley – June 2013
“The wedding day was amazing and it was made even better by such an amazing band! You were so professional and made sure that everything went smoothly – even though there was a slight issue with timings for cutting the cake and the first dance (the catering manager went missing)! We didn’t manage to narrow down a playlist but that was not a problem at all – there was a good mix of songs and there was something for everyone. All of our guests commented on how fantastic you were. Everyone was up on the dance floor dancing, singing and even playing air guitar (including grandparents!)
Thank you so much for all of your time and effort – we are so glad that you were part of our day and we wish we could do it all over again! Best Wishes, Louise & Lee xx” - Bride & Groom

Tim Jopling, 50th Birthday Party
Middlesbrough Golf Club – May 2013
“From the time I decided to have a party to celebrate my first 50 years having a great live group was always going to be key to the event. We spoke to people in the know the usual “my mate plays in a group” but I knew we wanted something special and we eventually found it after looking at a number of groups live and on the net. The first impressions of Func on the Rocks is a very professional and well put together web site. The initial contact with Annie the manager was also professional with prompt communication. This gave me confidence to proceed with the booking which was a smooth process and accommodated our timing and music choice including a proper contract which I felt was a big plus when parting with a decent sum of money upfront.
On the evening the band were just so professional, set up, timing, quality everything that I hoped for. Everyone of my 100 plus guests commented how good they were. I have just been back to settle my bill at the venue which was the Golf Club at Brass Castle. The catering manager has been there 10 years and the bar manager 30 years they have seen lots and lots of bands over that time. Their words to me “the best singer and musicians that have ever played at our place” what more can I say.
Booking Func on the Rocks was a great call I am so glad they were available thanks again to Cherie Lee Chris Steve Erik and the 6th member who ensures it works brilliantly Annie.” - Tim Jopling

“I would just like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Func On the Rocks and Annie their manager. What an Amazing session performed at my daughters wedding. From the onset Annie answered my questions via email promptly. The song lists for us to choose our tunes for the evening were extensive – fab selection, it took us ages whittling it down to our final choice – each song was performed brilliantly I must add! :) Even the request for my husband to join the band on bass for one number was accommodated and he loved it !! All our guests had a fantastic evening and the floor was filled from start to finish with our youngest guest age 2 up to my dad age 89!!! The staff at the venue all commented that they had never heard such a fantastic band play at Delbury. The only disappointment was that it was all over far too soon :( I only hope that I get the opportunity to hear you play again in the not too distant future :) “

My guests loved the whole thing and the band certainly made an impression on them. Broughton Hall Utopia – November 2012
“A rather large portion of our guest list was made up of professional musicians and West End musical theatre performers. So, trying to find a band that could make an impression on such a crowd was always going to be a challenge. After trawling through endless sound clips on the internet, we had not found a band that even came close. Then one click later, the voice of Cherie Gears somehow managed to fill the room, even through the tiny speakers of our laptop. The next day, we had our band booked.
And what a band! This is a band that’s so good they had the dance floor full on their sound check! Turns out we had nothing to worry about, every one of our guests loved the music and they were not shy in telling us so.
You guys really did over-deliver and we couldn’t recommend you highly enough. Cannot wait for the opportunity to book you guys again!” – David & Amy-Jean
