A huge congratulations again to the happy couple David and Amy-Jean and another big thank you to them for choosing us to share their special day at Broughton Hall Utopia. The crowd were amazing, and kicking off the party with a Tina Turner classic Proud Mary, we couldn’t have wished for a better reception. We wish you all the very best for the future x “A rather large portion of our guest list was made up of professional musicians and West End musical theatre performers. So, trying to find a band that could make an impression on such a crowd was always going to be a challenge. After trawling through endless sound clips on the internet, we had not found a band that even came close. Then one click later, the voice of Cherie Gears somehow managed to fill the room, even through the tiny speakers of our laptop. The next day, we had our band booked.
And what a band! This is a band that’s so good they had the dance floor full on their sound check! Turns out we had nothing to worry about, every one of our guests loved the music and they were not shy in telling us so.
You guys really did over-deliver and we couldn’t recommend you highly enough. Cannot wait for the opportunity to book you guys again! - David & Amy-Jean“
A massive congratulations to Nicola and all involved for such a hugely successful Charity Ball last weekend to raise money for FSID. It was an honour to have been a part of it. http://www.alexanderscharityball.co.uk
The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths is the UK’s leading baby charity aiming to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health.
Performing alongside a great selection of entertainment including Magician Mark Waddington and Grosvenor Fun Casino was an absolute pleasure.
In total the event raised a staggering £16,000 in memory of the tragic loss of Nicola’s son Alexander.
“I wanted to say a Massive Thank You to you all for Saturday night. The band were AMAZING and I don’t think I’ve seen a dance floor fill up so quickly ever! My guests loved the whole thing and the band certainly made an impression on them.
I had hoped for target of £15,000 for this year but we’ve exceeded that with £16029 which is overwhelming and I Thank You for being a part of it.
Func On The Rocks are delighted to have been asked to take part in a fundraising event organised by the charity Bethany’s Smile to support children with life limiting/life threatening illnesses and their families.
The 10km Walk of Smiles will be held on 8th September 2012 at The Old Ball Pub in Horsforth, Leeds from 10.30am. We will be there from around 2pm to welcome the fundraisers back from their long walk with some uplifting live music.
The day will also be filled with fun-packed activities for the whole family, including a bouncy castle, face painting, BBQ, live entertainment, raffle, tombola and much more! Everyone is encouraged to dress in either outfits to make people ‘Smile’ or lots of colour, so please come along and show your support.
