If it ain’t Pembroke

We’re delighted to share with you a few beautiful snaps from the wedding of Gary and Lucy at Pembroke Lodge in Surrey. Mr and Mrs Major tied the knot at this truly gorgeous Georgian mansion and we shared a relaxed afternoon with them as our acoustic duet, then on to a fantastic evening of dancing and much merriment. Their first dance choice was Ellie Goulding’s intimate cover of the huge Justin Timberlake hit ‘Mirror’. We also had the pleasure of performing the father/daughter dance live – ‘Grace’ by Wolftones. We thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their special day and we wish them all the best with the next chapter of their lives together.

“Func on the Rocks, a band that will make your day, literally. Personal chilled acoustic to showstopping performances again & again. If you’re looking for the perfect band, don’t go anywhere else, you just found them. ”

“Annie & the band,
Your band has been the talking point of the whole wedding party & families since our big day. To say you made the reception a night to remember is an understatement. The amount of people that were dancing to the 1st song & the shouts for an encore say it all
We could of partied all night long with you guys, we only wish you could of celebrated it with us. To top it all off, the way you sang our 1st Dance song & the Father of the bride song were just perfect. Thankyou for making our day so memorable & performing like it was your last song, every song.
We would book you again in a heartbeat, keep in touch, see you all soon
Mr & Mrs Major x”

Exciting new project

It’s been quite some time since we updated you on what’s been happening so we thought we’d check in and give you a sneak peak of our exciting new project which will be revealed in the spring.

The past 6 months have without a doubt been our busiest to date, yet we’ve still managed to find the time to hatch a brand new plan to bring you even more func this year! So, watch this space…

Same time next year!

A great night was had by all at the recent charity event Bramham Ball raising funds for some amazing local causes. The crowd were unbelievable, dancing long into the wee small hours. The night also featured some other fab entertainment including mind-boggling magic and there was even a local celebrity (see if you can spot them!). We had such a ball that we’ll be back to do it all again next year, so get your dancing shoes ready and we’ll see you there.

With thanks to everyone involved in putting on such a great event, and to Pixrich Photography who captured the evening perfectly.

“We booked Func on the Rocks for Bramham Ball this July, raising funds for local charities. They surpassed all expectations and were one of the major reasons why the Ball was so successful. Their unbounded energy and enthusiasm and their ability to keep the dance floor full and buzzing all night meant we had no hesitation in booking them immediately for next year’s Ball. One of our guests booked them soon afterwards for a Birthday party and we can’t wait to hear them again. Great guys, great musicians, great choice of songs = a great night enjoyed by all!” – Nick Hall, Bramham Ball 2013

Wood Hall wedding

We love a good first dance, and you can’t get better than a happy couple putting their absolute all into it. This lovely bride and groom rocked the dancefloor from start to finish to one of our all time favourite songs, and an ever popular choice – Florence & The Machine’s turn on You’ve Got The Love. They have very kindly shared some beautiful photos with us from their big day at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa, Wetherby.

In full swing

Wedding season is well and truly in full swing! It’s been such a busy few weeks already we felt it was about time to take a second to stop and reminisce.

Wedding party dancing

So this July has been a hot one so far. We’ve been up and down the length of the country and the sun has continued to shine. We’ve discovered that it’s never too early for ice cream and never too hot to dance the night away, even in a huge white dress. Today, being some welcome temporary light relief from the sweltering temperatures of late. We’d like it straight back to tropical again tomorrow please in time for this week’s excited couples!

With thanks to Christodoulou Photography.

We’re back!

Just returned from a very exciting break for our very own FOTR family wedding in Cyprus, to see keyboard player Mr Walker tie the knot. A very warm welcome to all our new fans and followers, and thank you to everyone who has been in touch during our time away. Please bear with us just a little longer whilst we work our way through the bursting inbox! Thank you for your patience x

East Riddlesden Hall

One of the best things about being a function band is getting the chance to play at so many amazing venues. One of our favourites in particular being East Riddlesden Hall, Keighley. This stunning 17th century manor house with romantic gardens and converted barn is perfectly suited to every part of a dream wedding day. You can also rest assured that you will be in the capable hands of an experienced professional with Weddings Supervisor, Emma Cunliffe.

We would like to thank the happy couple Mr & Mrs Fowler for allowing us to be a part of their beautiful day at East Riddlesden Hall recently and share a few shots with you.

“Wonderful! The band fitted in so well with our relaxed feel and even our sixteen month old daughter was up having a boogie!” – Thomas & Catherine Fowler

What a difference…

… a great photographer makes.

We don’t often share the blog love with other kinds of businesses, but when we come across a real gem we just have to. For all our brides and grooms from the south, it is our pleasure to introduce to you – Richard Skins, Dorset Wedding Photographer. Enjoy!

Huge congratulations again and thanks to Danika, Gary and the lovely mother-of-the-bride for allowing us to be a part of such a beautiful wedding and then share these shots with you. All the best for the future x

“I would just like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Func On the Rocks and Annie their manager. What an Amazing session performed at my daughters wedding. From the onset Annie answered my questions via email promptly. The song lists for us to choose our tunes for the evening were extensive – fab selection, it took us ages whittling it down to our final choice – each song was performed brilliantly I must add!:) Even the request for my husband to join the band on bass for one number was accommodated and he loved it !! All our guests had a fantastic evening and the floor was filled from start to finish with our youngest guest age 2 up to my dad age 89!!! The staff at the venue all commented that they had never heard such a fantastic band play at Delbury. The only disappointment was that it was all over far too soon😦 I only hope that I get the opportunity to hear you play again in the not too distant future:)
