A Surprise 50th Birthday, a First Dance Revisited, and a Packed Dancefloor: Live Music with FUNC ON THE ROCKS

At FUNC ON THE ROCKS, we’re lucky to be part of so many incredible celebrations – but some really stay with us.
One of those special nights was when Paul planned a surprise 50th birthday party for his wife, Jean. And it turned out to be a truly unforgettable evening filled with music, memories and love.

Planning the surprise

Paul wanted the night to be perfect for Jean and reached out to us with an idea that instantly melted our hearts: could we learn and perform “Amazed” by Lonestar – the song that was their first dance when they got married 10 years ago?
Of course, we were more than happy to say yes! Bringing a personal touch to every event is something we love, and learning special songs chosen by our clients makes the night even more meaningful.

Packed dancefloor from the first song

From the moment we started playing, Jean’s family and friends filled the dancefloor. The energy was incredible – the kind of atmosphere that reminds us why live music makes such a difference at events.
And when it was time for “Amazed,” you could feel how much it meant to Paul and Jean to hear their song live again, surrounded by loved ones. It was one of those moments where everyone in the room felt the emotion.

A Dancing Queen Moment of Her Own

One of the most unforgettable parts of the night wasn’t pre-planned – it was entirely spontaneous. During our set, a lovely lady stepped forward with so much joy and presence, she absolutely stole the show. When “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder came on, she owned the floor and brought smiles to everyone around her. That pure, infectious happiness truly made the night sparkle even more.

After the party, Paul and Jean left us this wonderful review:
