This weekend, FUNC ON THE ROCKS had the pleasure of providing live entertainment for a fantastic Oscars Themed Summer Ball at Woodsome Hall Golf Club.

As a band, we always enjoy themed events, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. From the moment guests arrived, the venue had been transformed with Hollywood-inspired décor, celebrity cut-outs and plenty of red-carpet glamour. We even found ourselves sharing a photo opportunity with George Clooney, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Daniel Craig – although we’re still debating who the real stars of the evening were!

Returning to Woodsome Hall Golf Club

Woodsome Hall Golf Club is a venue we know well. Over the last decade, we’ve had the privilege of performing there on numerous occasions, so it was great to be back once again.

One of the highlights of the evening was catching up with some familiar faces in the crowd. We enjoyed chatting with several former captains and members who we’ve met over the years, making the event feel even more special. Returning to venues where we’ve built long-standing relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Movie Soundtracks and Packed Dancefloors

With the Oscars theme in full swing, we couldn’t resist including some movie soundtrack favourites in the setlist. One particular highlight was performing The Power of Love from the classic film Back to the Future, which went down brilliantly with the audience.

The dancefloor was busy throughout the evening as guests enjoyed a mix of classic floor-fillers, rock favourites, party anthems and singalong hits. Creating that atmosphere and seeing people enjoying themselves is always what makes an event memorable.

A Brilliant Evening of Entertainment

The success of any event comes down to the people involved, and this Summer Ball was no exception. The organisers, staff and guests all helped create a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish.

We’re incredibly grateful to have been invited back to Woodsome Hall Golf Club and look forward to returning again in the future.
